A walk around in Mulashidi - the name means 'a patch of thatch by the Mula river'

A small tour in biology!??
This, according to my tour guide, should be a Sago tree (above) - I have my doubts
Below is a hydropower facility which is used to generate electricity for the village (only during nighttime)
The inner part of the ripe fruit (the brown one in the photo below) is used as sponge, says my tour guide. I believe him and call it 'Sponge Bob' fruit
The tree in the photo below is called 'Master of the Wood', says my tour guide. I say < it looks like a fern tree you see in New Zealand>. He says it is not a fern tree - I made peace
And again some scenery

As many of the people in Northern Kachin State are Christians you might find a Catholic, a Baptist and a Lutheran church in the same village
Above: not the only church in Mulashidi (but nothing so fancy as we are used in the Western world)
It's not unusual in this area to be invited for lunch ... here we spent lunchtime in company with a lot of nice ladies
And below some photos of the new ressort which the owner of Malikha Lodge built and which will open in 2011
