A morning walk to 'young' Ayeyarwaddy River ...

A walk across Ayeyarwaddy River ...

... on Bala Min Htin Bridge ...

... as I was curious as ever my tour guide  told me what was written on the

memory stones above ...

... the bridge is 2687.63 feet,

it costed a lot of Leg (1 Leg = 100 k Kyats)

and that it was formally opened in November 1998 by a well known General ...

... and he told me some things  that are not written:

the bridge was built with the 'help' of China,

it is now  leaning 7degrees  to the North (pylones  are undermined by the river's current)

(I guess the journalist of New Light of Myanmar had a 'shining'

when he took that photo in 2009)

and it will cost some more Leg  to fix that ... but repair has already started!
