A trip to Monywa's 'Borobudur': Thanbuddhay Temple
Why 'Borobudur'??? - See,what's coming up! ...
Below is an aerial view of the premises....
... and here (below) is the 'real thing'...isn't it neat?
The main temple is covered by 471 stupas (they say) so it reminds a bit of Borobudur (not truely if you visited the real one!)
The view along the eastern walkway (above left) and from the entrance towards north
Let's see how it looks inside ...
the name Sambuddhe or Thanbuddhay means 'Thousand Buddhas' (above right) ... and above left is a blueprint of the temple with detailed description
Walking around a while is not a waste of time...
... and of course you will realise that every wall and every niche is decorated ...
... with Buddha statues...
... the number of Buddha statues I heard was more than 580 thousand ...
So, when we left they had to count 2 more
... outside decoration like inside decoration is overwhelming ...
... and so colourful...
... that you will automatically think of ...
... Bollywood movies
Below a view of the pond in the most eastern corner of the temple ...
Let's see some more of the premises ... I forgot the story about the scene shown below ...
Below: the 'wet-pole-climbers' again ...
